Studio:
12th October - 8th December 2003
During this time News 24 broadcast from TC10 which used CSO (colour
separation overlay) to project the usual backdrop over a blue screen.
The change meant building work could commence in the usual location to fix
the air conditioning and create the new look studio. After some tweaking
early on, the 'fake set' looked very effective. Only several shots were
available and this meant 2-way interviews had a specific graphic instead
of on the plasma screen and business broadcast from a separate area.
BBC News provides a
joint service for BBC News 24 and BBC World viewers
for the first half of every hour from 0100-0500 (then The World Today).
Most of the time they broadcast from the N24 studio but sometimes viewers in the
UK are treated to the rather busier World studio. This was the case every night
during the building work in the News 24 studio.

More power problems at TVC on 3rd December
2003 meant a joint programme going out on News 24 and World. When
World opted-out, a UK weather forecast could be introduced with the
logo onscreen.
